Dendrocalamus strictus.

Lathi bamboo, commonly found in the mid-western regions of the country, including Makwanpur, Bara, Chitwan, and Nawalparasi, has an average diameter of about 2 inches and can be harvested at lengths up to 16 feet.

This bamboo variety is particularly favoured for creating furniture and decorative items because of its strength, attributed to the short distance between its nodes and its thick inner membrane, which also allows it to be easily bent when heated uniformly.
