Janakpur House
This house is for a client who plans to build a retirement home in his hometown Janakpur.
The total area consists of (27 by 19 ft) 513 Sq ft of total floor area. The house has one toilet/bathroom, kitchen, bedroom, and common living. It has a balcony at both the front and back sides and large windows in all the rooms for better ventilation and air circulation.
The foundation is evaluated at the height of 4 feet from the ground level to avoid water flooding during monsoon. The bahareque wall consisting of bamboo frame with flatten bamboo on inside with mud plaster and bamboo slats on outside having a total thickness of 6 inches. The roof consists of bamboo purlin and rafter with CGI roofing with thatched roof.
