Janakpur House
Green Bamboo Creation (GBC) is proud to present the Janakpur House, a sustainable and eco-friendly retirement home design located in Janakpur. The project covers a total floor area of 513 sq. ft. (27 by 19 ft), featuring one bedroom, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a common living area. The house includes balconies at both the front and back, with large windows throughout to ensure optimal ventilation and air circulation.
To enhance the durability and sustainability of the house, the foundation is elevated 4 feet above ground level, protecting it from water flooding during the monsoon season. The bahareque wall construction incorporates a bamboo frame with flattened bamboo inside, mud plaster, and bamboo slats on the outside, ensuring a wall thickness of 6 inches for better insulation and resilience. The roof is made from bamboo purlins and rafters, topped with CGI roofing and a thatched roof. This combination of natural materials makes the Janakpur House a perfect example of eco-friendly, sustainable housing with traditional Nepali vernacular design, ideal for the client’s retirement home needs.
