Kitchen with Hempcrete Wall and Bamboo Structure

This sustainable kitchen is located adjacent to the Bamboo Pavilion at Akasha Academy in Suntakhan, Kathmandu. Built on a solid concrete foundation, the structure features Harauti Bamboo (Bambusa Balcooa) for the frame and Mal Bamboo (Bambusa Nutan) for the roofing, ensuring durability and sustainability.

The walls are made of hempcrete with bamboo studs as the framework, providing a substantial 10-inch thickness, reinforced with limestone plaster for additional strength. The roof will be topped with high-quality clay tiles with a four-sided slope for effective water drainage.

Currently in the final approval stage, the project has completed all necessary design drawings, BOQ, and site clearance. Construction is set to begin in the first week of June, marking another milestone in sustainable architecture by Green Bamboo Creation.
